Guitar (classical) audition guide

Components

1) One right hand arpeggio study from the following:  

  • Leo Brower: Études Simples, No. VI 
  • H. Villa-Lobos:  Étude No. 1 …. 

2) One left hand arpeggio study from the following: 

  • D. Aguado (any study) 
  • H. Villa-Lobos: Étude No. 2 

3) Two contrasting pieces chosen by applicant.

4) Sight reading: One and two voices.

  • First, Second and more positions if possible. 
  • Rhythm including eight notes

Recommended minimum level: The Library of Classical Guitar Classics, vol. 1, (ed. Amsco) 

The above requirements are mandatory. Failure to accomplish these minimum requirements will greatly reduce your chances of being accepted. You greatly improve your chances of acceptance when you prepare your audition requirements with the guidance of a qualified Classical Guitar teacher.
