Alliance Sport-Études

The Alliance Sport-Études, recognized and subsidized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education, has the mission of supporting the perseverance and success, both academically and athletically, of high-level Quebec athletes who pursue higher education. More than 1,500 student-athletes from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and 50 sports federations benefit from the services and advantages of the Alliance Sport-Études each semester.

Services

Student-athletes from our program have the status of a recognized student-athlete at their school, allowing them to receive educational support services adapted to their needs, such as:

  • Access to a designated academic advisor, who works closely with the student to ensure he is adequately supported
  • Course schedule can be organized around the athlete’s training and competition needs, based on the academic path
  • Access to the scholarships program of the Fondation Sport-Études

Admission conditions

To be admitted to Alliance Sport-Études you must:

  1. Be admitted to an Alliance Sport-Études member college.
  2. A) Play in the QMJHL, QJHL* (LHJQ) or the LHMAAAQ
    Or
    B) Be identified as an Excellence, Élite, Relève or Espoir athlete by a federation recognized by the Direction du sport et de l’activité physique of the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport.

* Eligible QJHL players are those studying in a member college, have evolved in the Midget AAA league and currently appear on the protection list of a QMJHL team. You can apply to Alliance Sport-Études by completing their online registration form before November 1st (for the winter session) and before March 1st (for the fall session).
