Find the program or course for you

Trying to figure out which Continuing Education program or course is right for you? Consider the following.

I'm looking for formal qualification and recognition

Are you reorienting your career, entering a new job market or seeking formal qualifications in your industry? Consider these options:

  • Attestation of College Studies (ACS): These are college-level programs focused on the acquisition of skills. Our ACS programs vary in length from 6 months to over a year, with some offering the option of evening classes. For international candidates, we also offer international attestation programs.
  • Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC): These programs allow individuals with significant experience in their field to gain official recognition for their competencies and, if applicable, to build any missing ones. Our RAC programs offer either ACS or DCS (Diploma of College Studies) equivalency. They are delivered online and offer a flexible scheduling on evenings and weekends, enabling individuals to continue working full-time.

I'm looking to develop professionally or upskill

Are you seeking to upskill in your current profession, build key skill sets or gain certification to meet a career goal? Consider these options:

  • Personal and Professional development and Certificate programs: These courses are designed to help individuals meet the requirements needed to advance in their careers, whether that's training on a specific software or system, or meeting health and safety criteria. They range from a few weeks to a couple months in length. Some courses are subsidized by Emploi-Québec for local residents and result in professional certification.
  • Language School courses: The Language School offers full-time and part-time courses aimed at professionals in English and French. Emploi-Québec opportunities, including with the Language School, are available for select full-time courses.

I'm looking to continue my college studies

Are you looking to pick up where you left off with your diploma, take university prerequisites or get requalified for a Diploma of College Studies (DCS)? The following options are available to you:

  • DCS programs: Here at Continuing Education, we offer diplomas in Science and Social Science, as well as more tailored options. Courses are delivered in the evening.

General Considerations

When choosing your course or program, it can helpful to ask yourself the following:

  • What is my existing experience? Do I have previous schooling or industry experience that is relevant?
  • What are my professional/career goals? Do I want to reorient my career path or advance in my current job or industry?
  • How much time can I commit to my studies?
  • What options are available to me given my immigration and/or Quebec residence status?
  • What are the language requirements of my program of interest?
