Power of Caring: A conference celebrating Early Childhood Education

Calling all educators, students and professionals in the field of Early Childhood Education (ECE)! Vanier's ECE department is hosting a conference on Saturday, October 19th to celebrate our profession and to explore the key issues of well-being and gender parity in the field.

Speakers

Gail Markin is a counsellor, author, and coach who is committed to
promoting well-being in the education workplace. Gail is the author of Beyond Self-Care: Leading a Systemic Approach to Well-being for Educators, where she combines learning from both research and practice to support educators and leaders with practical ideas to create well-being in their organizations. When she is not writing and speaking or podcasting about well-being, Gail is working on a Ed. D. in Leadership and Policy at UBC.

Hal Hannaford, a lifelong educator who began as a
student at Lower Canada College in Montréal, retired in June 2020 after 31 years as a Headmaster in Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS). He co-founded the CAIS Leadership Institute, where he taught for 20 years. He actively participates in athletics, public speaking, and fundraising for charitable causes.

Following talks from our guest speakers, lunch will be served and a raffle for prizes will be held.
