Vanier Key Society

The Vanier Key Society (VKS) is comprised of motivated students looking to acquire new skills, develop their leadership abilities, represent Vanier, and contribute to student life.

VKS students may be involved in the following:

Community

  • Art hive workshops
  • Themed activities (Halloween, GeekCon)
  • Social activities (speed-friending, bubble tea social, karaoke)
  • Student Life events (Diwali, Holiday Fest, Talent Show)

Consent peer leaders

  • Activity based support groups
  • Take Back the Month Initiatives (Sexual Assault Awareness Month)
  • Creation of social media and awareness raising content
  • Healthy relationships info kiosks/workshops

Green

  • Info kiosks (Fair Trade campus, low-waste living, greenwashing)
  • DIY eco-workshops (mending, kombucha, lip balm, plant propagation)
  • Earth day awareness activities
  • Sustainability fair

Indigenous

  • Truth and reconciliation kiosks
  • Indigenous People’s Week
  • Moose Hide campaign event
  • Orange shirt day activities

Requirements to join VKS

  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Available for the weekly meetings
  • Attend scheduled training sessions

How to get involved? 

Students must apply to become a member of the Vanier Key Society by filling out the online form available at the beginning of each semester under the Vanier Student Life Community on Omnivox.

Those selected will be invited to an interview before the first meeting of the semester.
