Cegep is a level of education after secondary school and prior to university studies or entering the work force. The general admission requirement is a secondary school diploma. However, students in secondary schools in a province other than Quebec can be admitted upon the completion of Grade 11 (high school).
Ontario applicants, who graduated prior to June 2003, require the Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with a minimum of 30 credits.
Cegep graduation requirements in Quebec require that all out-of-province students pass the Épreuve uniforme de français in order to receive their diploma of collegial studies. As a result, if you are an out-of-province student, you must submit the results of a French proficiency test. Upload the results of your test to your SRAM application file.
You are responsible for registering to the test and providing your results to Vanier. The minimum acceptable score is B2 for admissions to Vanier College. Test scores are valid for a period of two years from the date of the exam.
The only accepted tests are:
Test results for French proficiency must be submitted with the SRAM application before the deadline. Failure to do so will result in an automatic refusal.
Students who have been educated in a province other than Quebec and are applying to a program with a prerequisite(s) may be asked to write Physical Science, Mathematics, Physics and/or Chemistry tests (whichever is relevant to the program of choice ) to determine whether the material they have covered is comparable to that taught in Quebec high schools.
Vanier College will contact you to pass these tests if this requirement applies to you.
A fee for non-residents of Quebec was established by the Quebec Government in 2000. If you were not born in Quebec, you may be required to pay a non-resident fee.
