Vanier’s Environmental and Wildlife Management program equips students with the requisite skills, knowledge and field experience to pursue a career in the environmental and sustainability sectors.

In this program, students learn about the monitoring, conservation and management of natural habitats, renewable resources and wildlife. Through instruction in the natural sciences and extensive fieldwork, students are taught how to systematically observe and manage populations of flora and fauna within a given ecosystem. With a solid foundation in laboratory research and an internship component, the program effectively prepares students for a range of employment opportunities as environmental technologists. Our graduates go on to careers in the forestry and fishery industries, ornithology, wildlife rehabilitation, environmental consulting, education and interpretation, research and more.

Vanier’s EWM program boasts top-grade facilities that include a field station located in the Laurentians, where students spend the majority of their final year. Thanks to international partnerships with organizations in Costa Rica, Belize and Namibia, students also get the chance to do their internships, field work, term projects and/or research overseas, exploring a range of natural environments. For those that wish to continue their studies, EWM courses count for advance credits at several universities across Quebec and Canada.

Why choose this program?

  • Extensive field work in the Laurentians
  • International internship opportunities
  • Advanced standing in universities throughout Quebec and Canada
  • Accreditation by the Canadian Environmental Accreditation Commission
