Classical and Modern Studies Certificate
Vanier’s Classical and Modern Studies certificate develops students’ knowledge of the transition from ancient to modern history through literature, ethics and political ideology.
This certificate is intended for students outside of the Liberal Arts program wishing to convert their required English and Humanities courses into a specialization in Classical and Modern Studies. Offered through the Liberal Arts program, courses explore topics such as the worldviews of ancient Greeks, ethics and the rise of modern literary genres. Modelled on a classical education, this certificate makes for a competitive application to university programs in business, law, medicine, science, journalism and more. Like the college-wide majors, this certificate is open to students of any DCS program at Vanier.
