Jewish Studies Major

    Vanier’s Jewish Studies major develops students’ knowledge of Jewish civilization and its myriad contributions to modern society.

    In this major, students learn about the historical influence of Judaism and its role in diverse domains such as literature, language, politics and culture. They gain an appreciation for the religion’s impact across the sciences and humanities and examine Jewish peoples' roles in various world events. This major is open to any student interested in learning about Judaism and the intricate ties between culture, history and religion.
