Vanier’s Communications, Media and Studio Arts program introduces students to the disciplines of film, photography, media and fine arts.

In this program, students learn art, media and cultural theory and apply this knowledge through a range of mediums. With courses in photography, sculpture, painting, printmaking, video production and theatre, students can either explore a variety of disciplines or choose to specialize in one medium. Graduates leave the program with robust portfolios and a strong foundation in both theory and practice.

The CMSA program is uniquely multidisciplinary, led by faculty with expertise that spans installation art, filmmaking, painting and more. Our facilities include fully equipped media labs, a makerspace studio, a cinema screening room, and fine arts studios. Our students regularly exhibit at Vanier's Henry Lehmann Gallery, as well as in annual festivals and group shows.
