The general profile of Vanier's Social Science program develops students' knowledge and research skills in the study of society and human behaviour.

In this program, students are introduced to foundational concepts in a range of Social Science disciplines and learn to apply them to everyday life. They study how social hierarchies, cultural values, and systems of power shape individual and collective experiences. Courses in this program touch a broad range of fields, such as Anthropology, Economics, History and Religious Studies. Students are also instructed in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, and undertake an independent research project on a topic of their choice.

As one of the most popular pre-university programs at Vanier, Social Science (General) allows students to try out a variety of courses and customize their studies. Beyond the classroom, students also participate in enriching activities such as the annual Social Science Festival and trips abroad. For those intent on keeping all their doors open for university, Social Science with Mathematics is another great option.
