Recent changes in Quebec legislation (Bill 96 or Law 14) modify the structure of programs offered in English Colleges. Applicants educated outside of Quebec may be admitted at Vanier College , however, they will have to successfully complete the Épreuve uniforme de langue française (EUF) in order to graduate. Please refer to Bill 96 on our website for more information.

As a result, the students educated outside of Quebec must submit a French proficiency test.  The minimum acceptable score is B2 for admissions to Vanier College.  Please note that these test scores are valid for a period of two years from the date of the exam.  The acceptable tests are:

  • Bright
  • TCF tout public (The TCF Québec and the TCF Canada are not accepted) The mandatory tests are Written Comprehension, Oral Comprehension and Vocabulary and Syntax. On web it is written as Listening, Grammar and Reading Comprehension.
  • DELF tout public niveau B2 all components
  • DALF
  • TEF (The tests TEF Express, TEF Québec and the TEF Canada are not accepted.) The mandatory tests are Written Comprehension, Oral Comprehension, Vocabulary and Syntax

Test results for French proficiency must be submitted with the SRAM application before the deadline. Failure to do so will result in an automatic refusal.

Admissions Requirements: Advanced Standing

Students who have attended other Cegeps are required to submit a cumulative transcript. Acquired credits may be recognized between Cegeps and may be used to fulfill diploma requirements.

Students who have attended any other post-secondary institution, such as community college or a university, may be eligible for equivalences, on a course-by-course basis (a minimal fee is applied).

In all cases, applicants with advanced standing are evaluated for admission on their overall academic record.

Vanier College – Continuing Education admits as many qualified students as possible to the program of their choice.

Fulfillment of minimum academic requirements does not guarantee admission to full-time studies. The College reserves the right to refuse admission to applicants whose qualifications are deemed insufficient.
