This program is designed for people interested in a career working with young children in a variety of settings including daycare, pre-school and after school programs, extended day programs and home daycare.

This government-sponsored work/study training program is being offered in response to an important need for Early Childhood Educators in Quebec, under the acronym COUD (programme de courte durée). Employers need you! If you want to work with, or are already working with, children in a daycare context, apply now!

This program is for you if:

  • You are already working in the Early Childhood Education field and do not possess formal training, or;
  • You have been offered employment from a participating employer in the Work-Study project.

Program specifications

  • Receive a maximum of 25$/hr for the entire 975 hours of academic training (only for class time attendance)
  • Program offered in English;
  • Program offered in a blended format (some classes online, some classes on campus)
  • Mondays & Fridays – working for a local daycare.
  • Classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays;
  • 16 full courses, with 4 courses done through a RAC (Recognition of Acquired Competencies) approach at program’s end
