Early Childhood Education for Indigenous candidates

In this program, students experience an educational journey that honors and amplifies their existing expertise in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Aimed at Indigenous adults who've acquired ECE knowledge over the years without formal certification, the program becomes a gateway to recognition and new possibilities. What students gain are competencies aligned with ECE roles. They are equipped to apply these competencies through assignments and evaluations provided by a dedicated Evaluator. Should any competencies be lacking, the Evaluator offers support, ensuring a comprehensive skill set. What sets this program apart is its Indigenized approach, crafted with the guidance of Indigenous partners. Students immerse themselves in Indigenous ways of knowing and learning during evaluations, embracing Indigenous cultural values.

The RAC evaluation process is flexible in terms of time, varying based on the number of competencies assessed from the ACS program. Students can maintain full-time employment as they engage with RAC content specialists, who offer evening and weekend availability. The critical step in RAC admission is the Validation Interview conducted by Content Specialists, which evaluates the depth of experience. Graduates of the program receive an Attestation of College Studies in Early Childhood Education from Vanier College, setting the stage for diverse career opportunities. Scholarships, work-study programs, and internships may be available. Moreover, the guidance and support from Vanier College ensure a successful academic journey that respects Indigenous heritage and builds a brighter future.
